Rebekah I am so sorry to hear your mom passed. I have fond memories of us growing up together. She was so special and was so kind and loving to my Thomas when he had her in the fourth grade. She and your dad are now watching over you and your family. I know my mom welcomed her with open arms. They were good friends. Prayers for you and your family!

So sorry to hear of Shirley's passing. I taught with her at JES for many years and benefited greatly from her instructional coaching most recently before her retirement from that position at JES. She was a great educator. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

Shirley was one of a kind! A phenomenal educator. She was my first grade teacher when I was a student at South Central Elementary. I later went on to be the principal of Jonesborough Elementary, where Shirley taught. She was a strong support for me, and always handeld the testing data reports......which she loved doing. She was a confidant and friend, and I am certainly a better educator and person for knowing her. May God comfort and strengthen the family during this most difficult time.

Rebekah, I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was on my mind the other day, and I should have messaged her. I remember her from when we were little, and I was lucky enough to be able to work with her while I was teaching. She became a great friend who I confided in frequently. She was such a special person. She was always willing to offer help to other teachers and had wonderful ideas. I learned so much from her. We would randomly message one another to check in. I have a picture of her from my time at South Central that whenever I would stress, I would always ask myself “What Would Shirley Do?” Praying for all.

I had the privilege of working with Mrs. Lowery at Jonesborough Elementary School. During our years together, she was a mentor and friend. She was truly a wealth of information in the education field. May the Lord comfort her dear family as she was so very proud of you.
